In the Sagittarius Zone 2013

Sagittarius takes us into the hidden dynamics of the physical world that we cannot see or mechanically explain. Under the influence of Sagittarius we realize that what we see is a very small part of reality. To be open to the subtle essence of existence we must awaken our higher/neutral mind *(1) through which we can perceive the invisible dynamics that give meaning and purpose to life.

November 21-22 – The Sun shines in Sagittarius

from November 21-22 – 4:22 PM PST (12:22 AM GMT) through December 21 (9:11 AM PST (5:11 GMT)

December 2-3 – Sagittarius New Moon 422 PM PST (12:22 GMT)

The new moon in Sagittarius invites us to examine the assumptions and motivations that blind us from a broader appreciation of existence. At the new moon and while the Sun shines in the Sagittarius zone we can benefit from examining how we have been conditioned to see life in a certain way. How do the beliefs, norms, and ideals instilled in us by society, education, family, religion, and mass media condition our outlook on life and color the lenses through which we view and interact in the world? What programmed convictions and attitudes unconsciously control us?

Chiron in Pisces squares the new moon, helping us to transcend the beliefs and conditioning that perpetuate ignorance and suffering. Chiron, like Sagittarius, is represented by the Centaur, whose half-human, half-horse body reminds us that we attune to reality through both our mind and our instincts. In Pisces, Chiron (1) reminds us that our primal wound is the illusion of separation from the Divine, (2) helps us remember our spiritual origin, (3) connects the mundane and the sacred, (4) expands our spiritual awareness, and (5) heals us through forgiveness and unconditional love.

November 6, 2013 – March 6,2014- Jupiter is Retrograde in Cancer

Jupiter retrograde in Cancer turns our attention inward to reassess our priorities and to release emotional imprints that control us through fear. For a whole year — July 2013 and July 2014 — the water signs (Jupiter in Cancer, Chiron in Pisces, and Saturn in Scorpio) form a grand trine, inviting us to let go of control and ease our stress by relaxing into the flow in life.

December 17 – Gemini Full Moon 1:28:A PST (9:28 AM GMT)

It is party time! Gemini full moon and Sun in Sagittarius cooperate very nicely to encourage us t have fun. This is the happy polarity pair. The fun will last if you stay sober/conscious and don’t tempt Uranus (turning direct) to upset the apple cart.

December 17 – Uranus in Aries goes direct

Just after the full moon peaks, Uranus ends its five-month yearly retrograde period. Its influence is intensified as it ‘slows down’ and hovers in the same position for several days while changing direction. Known as the God of Chaos and the Great Awakener, Uranus delivers sudden surprises to get our attention. During retrograde periods its activity is felt more internally. Uranus reminds us that we must be free, independent, and flexible if we want to attract and create something new. In Aries, Uranus underwrites our desire for individual freedom with rebellious urges, self-confident attitudes, and innovative ideas.

Mid December – Mid January – Cardinal Grand Cross

The on-going Pluto/Uranus square (2012-2015), already joined by Jupiter in Cancer is amped up to a cardinal grand cross as Mars enters Libra December 8 (through July 25, 2014). The Cardinal (generating) signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) initiate change and signal new direction in our lives. We are being challenged to deal simultaneously with four major areas of concern — Aries -self/identity, Libra – relationships, Cancer – inner and home life, and Capricorn – work/career.

The multiple combination of squares and oppositions catalyzes major changes in both our inner and outer worlds. Jupiter in Cancer facilitates our inner connection so that we can center, focus, stay balanced, and let our intuition guide us as the old falls away and a new developments arise. Keep your meditation practice consistent (as always!)

December 25 – Mars in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries.

December 30 – Mars squares Pluto in Capricorn.

January 8 – Mars squares Jupiter in Cancer.

December 21 – Solstice, Sun Moves into Capricorn, 9:11 AM PST (5:11 PM GMT)

December 21 – Venus Goes Retrograde

Venus in Capricorn goes retrograde just five hours after the Sun moves into Capricorn. We will feel the effects a week or so earlier as the planet slows down to reverse direction. Venus is in Capricorn for four months – November 6, 2013 through March 6, 2014. Through January 31, when Venus goes direct, we are being given the space to assess our values and what we want out of life — our job, career, and our relationships. Are we doing what we love? Are we getting what we need? What inner and outer changes can help us feel more satisfied?

Enjoy your journey and your life!
