Two major astrological configurations move the Scorpio and Pluto archetypes to center stage for the next six months. In this blog I continue the discussion began in my previous Libra blog – (1) Pluto entering Aquarius for the next 20 years, and (2) the Mars/Pluto opposition from November 2024 through April 2025.
Pluto at 29° is in the final days of its journey through Capricorn. November 19, Pluto enters Aquarius, where it will stay for 20 years. After 16 years in Capricorn, we may eagerly anticipate a new theme to Pluto’s deep awakening process. However, although Pluto’s intention is to set us free, the Pluto process is not a joy ride.
I am currently recuperating from Covid. My next workshop, on awakening your Third Eye, has been postponed until Sunday 8th December. Usual start time – 10:00 am PST (utc-8).

The Pluto Process
The Pluto process continually brings our attention to how we are disempowering ourselves. Pluto never lets up exposing how we enslave ourselves with our illusions, belief systems, and naïve expectations. Pluto is the search light in the dark cave of our subconscious.
We have to confront core issues, recognize self-sabotaging strategies, and let go of everything that does not serve our personal and collective good. Becoming aware of what we are doing is a long process. Real, sustainable change takes time and serious painfully honest work.
To move forward, we must learn our lessons and discover our inner truth, strength, and power. Without deep inner transformation, we continue to make the same mistakes and repeat the same dysfunctional scenarios. In different ways, both Capricorn and Aquarius focus on our relationship and interaction with the collective.
In Pluto territory, we must deal with the most basic truth – ‘The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.” Pluto reveals the masquerade of the dramas perpetuated by our assumed roles of victims, victimizers, bullies, and rescuers.
The good news is that the Pluto process directs us toward our innate potential, which reveals deeper truths about ourselves and reality, which in turn opens us to new possibilities, power, freedom, and love.
Pluto in Capricorn (2008-2024) to Pluto in Aquarius (2024-2044)
Pluto in Capricorn has exposed the abuse of authority and the hidden agendas of those who control power and resources for personal gain. Although, we are more aware of the abuse of concentration of power in our top-down hierarchical systems, many are still fixated on finding an external authority to take care of them and to blame for their problems.
Pluto in Aquarius will continue to expose the human tendency to ‘need’ a father figure to rescue us. As long as we put our ultimate trust in a ‘leader’ to whom we willingly give our unexamined allegiance, the dynamic of disempowerment and abuse will continue to play out. The Aquarian playbook focuses on the decentralization of power, which requires structural reorganization of our top down institutions. The role of our leaders in the Aquarian age is to empower the people, and it is our individual responsibility to empower ourselves.
A Profound Shift in the Collective Psyche
The Pluto process shifts its transformative and revelatory dynamic into Aquarius, November 19.
Pluto’s move from Capricorn to Aquarius marks a profound transition in our collective psyche. We not only enter a new age, we are entering a new consciousness. Our perspective will change radically. We will actually think about things differently. The new narrative includes the following:
- We will no longer be fixated on recreating an illusionary past. Our attention and choices will be focused on dealing with the present and creating a new future for ourselves and for the world.
- We will increasingly value ourselves, others, and our shared humanity.
- We will cease being subservient to external authorities, ‘false gods’, and find our own authority within ourselves.
- We will honor our uniqueness and pay attention to our way of being and our authenticity.
Capricorn strategies are competitive – How do I get to the top? How do I win?
Aquarian themes are about – How do I fit in? What is my contribution to my community? How can everyone win?
To find out, ask, listen to, and follow your heart.
Aquarius in Your Birth Chart – Inevitable Change
Identify where Capricorn and Aquarius are in your birth chart to see where one door is closing and another is opening. Where Aquarius falls in our birth chart is where we are each being invited to take responsibility for forging our future.
Change can be both exciting and bring up feelings of anxiety and trepidation. Given the inevitability of change, we can embrace the invitation to co-create with the universe and transform our lives in ways previously not available. The best option is to seize the opportunity and step into a new 20 year journey with awareness, willingness to make new choices, and love in our hearts.
Scorpio Metamorphosis
Scorpio is the zodiac sign most associated with transitions and transformation. Scorpio braves the dark unknown of the unconscious in its pursuit to find our personal truth, power, and freedom. By facing our worst fears and embracing our challenges we find our true essence. We discover that there is only death of our physical form, but no death of our immortal being, which shifts from one dimension of reality to another.
Scorpio reminds us that we are forever in a state of metamorphosis. To evolve into a plane of consciousness that vibrates with love, not fear, we must (1) be brutally honest, (2) recognize the real issues, (3) make peace with the past, and (4) accept and work with the way things are.
Our Emotional Journey
Scorpio calls us inward to connect with what we are feeling in our physical body and to sensitize ourselves to our ever-changing emotional body. It is though our physical and emotional bodies that we get in touch with what we have suppressed and tried to hide from our ego awareness. We get in touch with
- the fears that drive our defensiveness, paranoia, and anxiety,
- the anger that expresses as jealousy, resentment, aggression, and desire for revenge, and
- the sadness that seeds grief, depression, and loneliness.
Yikes, that is a lot! No wonder Scorpio energy is intense. Scorpio requires deep introspection in order to uncover our motivations and our truth. With focused commitment, we work towards living our lives from the essence of our soul.
Scorpio teaches us that our relationship with our emotions must be deep and authentic. To cultivate inner harmony, we must listen to our instincts, follow their messages, and embrace the ever-changing emotional dynamic of our soul.
Scorpio teaches us that life is a perpetual initiation. Every moment is an invitation to experiment, experience, learn, make choices, live creatively, and relax into the flow of existence.
Pluto and Mars and Our Internal Revolution
Pluto and Mars are the two planets associated with Scorpio. Before Pluto was discovered in 1930, Mars was designated as the ruler of Scorpio.
Mars represents (1) our passion, (2) our will to live, (3) how we co-create our life, (4) our willpower, (5) how we defend ourselves, (6) how we deal with conflict, and (7) our survival strategies.
Pluto, called the higher octave of Mars, is about discovering the hidden parts of ourselves. We are taken deep into the many dynamics of emotional power and powerlessness, where we identify how and why we form our personal desires, and how we can align with our authentic soul power. Pluto energy causes us to investigate our aggressive, obsessive, and impulsive tendencies so that we can use our Mars energy to be authentically courageous, wisely protective, and productively creative.
The Outer Planets, Personal Planets, and Deep Transformation
The outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) each initiate and support a deep process of transformation. Pluto’s territory is the subconscious.
(Pluto takes 248 years to circle the Sun and spends 16-20 years in each sign.)
The inner personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars and the Sun and the Moon) are about (1) how we respond to and implement deep change, (2) how we consciously decide and make choices, and (3) how we behave and take action.
(Mars orbits the sun in two years and spends about six weeks in a sign. When Mars goes retrograde (December 6-February 23, 2025), it spends 4-6 months in a sign. Mars transits Cancer and Leo during this time.)
Pluto and Mars Opposition for Six Months
The opposition of Mars and Pluto lasts 6 months, from November through April 25, 2025, spotlighting how we deal with fear, anger, control, and power. An opposition is generally interpreted as a conflict. But this opposition is about collaboration between our inner journey (Pluto) and how we apply deep transformation in our daily lives (Mars).
The Mars – Pluto opposition reveals suppressed anger, exposes unconscious patterns, and triggers wounds that feed the drama and bankruptcy of corrupt agendas. By illuminating the source of our actions, reactions, and nurturing instead of judging ourselves, we can uncover more appropriate ways to live our lives. By getting in touch with our emotional programming, we can let go of what is no longer real for us and identify what we really need to serve our soul and serve love.
Mars in Cancer makes us aware of our emotional needs and how we are are using our emotional energy to either nurture or undermine ourselves. Mars in Cancer urges us to develop our emotional intelligence as a source of inner knowing, personal communication, and our instinctual direction.
Mars in Leo supports us in connecting to our hearts and acting from our authentic self.
Mars is in Leo for 2 months, from November 4 – January 5, 2025
Mars is in Cancer again from January 6 – April 17.
Mars is again in Leo from April 18 – June 17.
Mars goes retrograde December 7 – February 24.
Planetary Shifts
In the next few weeks there is a lot of planetary activity that brings a complete change of perspective and opens the gates for major shifts. Five planets change signs (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto) and two planets change direction (Saturn and Mercury).
November 2 – Mercury moves into Sagittarius.
November 4 – Mars enters Leo.
November 11 – Venus enters Capricorn.
November 16 – Saturn goes direct.
November 26 — Mercury turns retrograde until December 16.
One thing leads to another, and by the end of the month we may find ourselves wondering – what just happened?
The above and the two planetary alignments discussed below can facilitate deepening our inner healing and awakening.
November 16 – Saturn Turns Direct at 12° Pisces
Saturn is about discipline, structure, being realistic, and working toward sustainability.
Saturn is our great teacher about physical reality. The more we play by the rules of the earth plane, the more Saturn rewards us.
Saturn in Pisces awakenes us to how physical and non-physical reality work together.
Saturn asks, ‘Is it realistic in physical terms?’ Pisces asks, ‘Is it real in the non-physical world.
Pisces is about our connection with the Universe and also our emotions. We need emotional boundaries to operate effectively in the world (Saturn), and we need to be open energetically to receive the gifts and guidance from the Universe. (Pisces)
November 15 – Taurus Full Moon at 24°
Taurus is Scorpio’s polarity pair. Together Scorpio and Taurus get us in touch with the cycles of nature and the mysteries and magic of life and death.
The Taurus full moon is tightly conjunct Uranus in Taurus at 25°. The unpredictable Uranus chooses disruption over the status quo. Its influence can wake us up to new possibilities that are aligned with our higher purpose. We may experience inspired breakthroughs and have deep realizations and breakthroughs that help us to
- embrace and welcome change,
- let go of the past way of responding, being, and doing,
- deepen our ability to trust and follow our intuition and heart, and
- let go, relax, and be at peace with the unfoldment of our lives.
All planetary archetypes work together to keep us moving forward and ever-evolving. Through our life experiences and the cosmic forces we are magically and magnetically supported towards growth, expansion, and awareness. The cosmos conspires to move us toward being agents of love, compassion, and peace.
Your Personal Process
How Am I with Myself?
Our inner process can be guided by the question ‘How am I with myself?’ This question leads us to feel, acknowledge, and be intimately present to all types sensations in our physical and emotional bodies. The more we feel, the more we can know about ourselves. The more we know ourselves, the more we can monitor our relationship with circumstances, others, and the universe.
To have a deep and loving relationship with ourselves, three issues must be dealt with (1) self-honesty, (2) self-forgiveness, and (3) self-trust.
Self-honesty
Self-honesty requires investigating what is often called our shadow or dark side. I prefer to call our inner demons our undeveloped self: the parts of us that need to be acknowledged, understood, and loved. These include our saboteurs, misunderstandings, and misinterpretations. In their search for deep meaning, Scorpio and Pluto always ask why? We need to be both willing to not know and willing to find out what alludes us. The bottom line is that we cannot live a lie.
Self-Forgiveness
Self-forgiveness starts with purging regrets, ‘should have, but didn’t’
Forgiving ourselves requires accepting our humanness and realizing that, because we are here to learn, we will make ‘mistakes’. A big part of learning requires becoming more and more conscious of what has been hidden, denied, or shamed. We can set ourselves free of self-judgment, unresolved anger, and stories of victimization with forgiveness. We can transcend self-alienation and self-criticism with self-acceptance and gratitude.
Self-Trust
Trust is an underlying theme of Scorpio and Pluto. There are many ways that we indulge in self-betrayal, including when we retreat into our shell, are emotionally shut down, can’t let go, and fester in self-criticism. When we live in the past, we allow our subconscious programming to control our state of being, our choices, and our actions.
We must learn to trust our intuitive and instinctual emotional core to build a foundation of true connection both with our soul and with universal energies.
Self-trust, commitment and loyalty are deep goals that we nurture over time. Our whole human life process is an unfoldment. We commit to being in the process and work with each phase and issue. We must identify what is not true. To reach and trust the core of our being is not a superficial affair or mental activity. Pluto and Scorpio keep score.
We can meet this challenging time with unwavering faith in our soul and in a higher power and Mother Earth. Abuse of power can be exposed and artfully dealt with only in awakened consciousness. Anchor yourself in Love for Mother Earth, the Divine Mother and Divine Father. It is our connection with the Divine that makes us tolerant and accepting of ourselves and each other. Only Love heals, transforms, and brings personal and planetary Peace.
Trust requires a stable inner foundation that can deal with changes, impermanence, and what is superfluous. We need a consistently available meditative neutral mind to cultivate and build trust and forge a genuine connection with ourselves and the universe.
Opening our Third Eye makes it possible to change our perspective of ourselves, our lives, and the nature of reality. In our neutral channel, we can transcend our human ego stories and engage in life in a whole new way.
Join me on Sunday 8th December for my next workshop – The Third Eye – Awaken Your Peace Channel.
