Affirmation and Meditation for Health, Wealth and Happiness

What Are You Telling Yourself?

Our inner dialogue is an important aspect of the Gemini archetype. HOW do you talk to yourself? WHAT are you saying? Let’s investigate the topic of prosperity, having enough, and abundance. What is the main theme of your inner conversation about finances?

After I started doing the Meditation for Telepathic Communication sent out in my last blog, I started internally telling myself —

Happy am I

Healthy am I

Wealthy am I

These words made me feel happy, and they changed my conversation about prosperity. Something profound shifted inside. Now when I start to think about financial pressures, I use my new mantra/affirmation to direct my inner conversation in a new way. I start noticing all my blessings and feel deep gratitude.

Affirmations

I have not been a big fan of affirmations because somehow I feel that I am lying to myself. But this time I felt that I was affirming my truth.

We need a way to converse with ourselves that is not superficial and is not robotically imposed or superimposed upon a real need to honestly talk with ourselves. Repeating a mantra in a language we don’t understand is a powerful way to disrupt thinking patterns. But sometimes it doesn’t satisfy our need to have an inner conversation about our life situations and challenges. We need words and messages we can understand and think through what we need to do and not escape into denial.

We need a way to pull ourselves out of our negative mind and negative loops and deliver our internal conversation to our positive mind and then to our neutral mind. Lying to ourselves, faking it, and imposing an external formula doesn’t work, and we know it.

The formula Yogi Bhajan gave us is ‘ Happy am I. Healthy am I. Holy am I.’

I like it. I have recited it. But it hasn’t shifted gears for me.

However, ‘Wealthy am I’ clicked. And ‘wealthy’ certainly includes ‘holy.’

Wealthy for me is the result of ‘being holy’ — of doing my sadhana for 40 years.

(Don’t get worried. The energy has changed on the Planet. You don’t have to wait 40 years.) But you do have to do your spiritual practice so it can work for you. The results come faster now.

We have to be honest and experiment with how different words work for us. ‘Wealthy am I’ works for me. Not because I am financially wealthy. But because it changes my inner conversation about financial concerns. It breaks old patterns and starts a new dialogue.

After I started repeating my new mantra affirmation, I started seeing gifts everywhere, within and without. I got even happier when I acknowledged all my gifts. My body relaxed more. And of course, we are healthier with less stress.

Inclusive Wealth and the Attraction Mode

Wealth and prosperity are not just about money, they include the spiritual wealth of patience, consciousness, kindness, compassion, intuition, and much more. I started recognizing all the spiritual ‘wealth’ I had accumulated over the years and felt very grateful.

Gratitude pulls us into the neutral mind. Wow. Feeling wealthy shifted my dualistic mind to neutral! In our neutral mind we are at an altitude that we can shift our attitude and our programmed way of thinking. We can actually change our inner dialogue.

My mind started having a new conversation focused on gratitude for all my spiritual and worldly gifts. And then I got it, this is part of the process of moving into the attraction mode and out of the struggle mode — a major teaching of Yogi Bhajan.

The happier we are, the more our radiant body shines. Our radiant body is our attractor mechanism, which being the tenth body is near the end of our journey. (My path is number ten or the radiant body.)

The Ascent and the Descent

The spiritual path of the Aquarian Age requires both the ascent up the chakras and the descent down to embody the higher spiritual frequencies. The ascent is naturally going to distance us from the physical world and our desire to be in it. We don’t manifest from the higher chakras. We escape from the higher chakras. And here in lies the great secret of manifestation. We have to bring the spiritual energies into our bodies and be able to contain and vibrate them to manifest. The more we embody and radiate spiritual light, the more we become attractor mechanisms.

We need to first raise our frequency and connect to spiritual energies and their gifts to embody them. It is a delicate and subtle process to integrate non-physical light into our physical body and to connect that high frequency with Mother Earth so that we are available and She can manifest through us. We need both the higher spiritual frequencies and our connection with Mother Earth to be able to relax and attract.

Prosperity is a major issue on the spiritual path because traditional paths not only focused of the ascent, they condemned the lower chakras and ignored the descent. The upper chakra paths naturally cut off the connections, which makes it possible to manifest. That is why Yogi Bhajan taught us to always work with the lower chakras, so we can embody and enjoy all the aspects of prosperity.

What is ‘Holy’? and Semantics

‘Holy’ in the past was associated with upper chakra path — giving up the world, renunciation, being a monk, sadu, and mystic. But that is not what we are supposed to be doing anymore. Yogi Bhajan told us it is a curse to be poor because then we don’t have the resources we need to take care of ourselves and to serve. Paying attention to semantics and how words influence our psyche through pass associations can help us release our resistance to the descent. When we choose the words that speak to us, we can integrate the light we tune into and accomplish the manifesting goals of our spiritual path.

‘Holy’ is supposed to work for us on all levels. And it does work. When we realize all the gifts that we have been given, we are wealthy behind imagination.

The other day a friend introduced me to a new neighbor. She told me later, the new neighbor asked her, ‘Who is she? I feel so much peace around her?’ That is one event that ignited my mind to start talking to myself with my new mantra. When I realized how my wealth serves others, I felt really blessed and so much gratitude.

I decided to share this story because I know many of my longtime Kundalini Yoga friends have been trying for years to figure out the spiritual/financial dance. That is what we are supposed to do. Hopefully those in the younger generation can benefit from our work. We are creating a new spiritual paradigm for householders and extricating ourselves from poverty vows and monk, nun, and yogi renunciate programs.

Spiritual Wealth Can Work for Us

We can experience that spiritual wealth works for us in physical reality. The fifth sutra given by Yogi Bhajan for living in the Aquarian Age is “Vibrate the Cosmos and the Cosmos Shall Clear the Path. “There are pay offs in the new mode.

We have to figure out a way to train our mind so that it does not sabotage us. Spiritual wealth is necessary and great and we must honor physical wealth too. We just have to give up our resistance to allowing spiritual wealth to work for us. We can’t be lying to ourselves when we say ‘wealthy I am.’ We are acknowledging our spiritual wealth and letting it serve us. We are moving into authentic gratitude for the awesome inner gifts of our spiritual practice and recognizing that we are shifting into the attraction mode. We are releasing vows of poverty that have stubbornly dominated our psyche at the unconscious level. We are radiating love into the world and making our contribution to world peace. We aren’t begging or bargaining with the Cosmos; we are vibrating the Cosmos!

This affirmation/mantra helps us shift how we talk to ourselves, so that negativity doesn’t dominate our thoughts and sabotage our attraction mechanism. It facilitates moving into a prosperity mindset and mode of thinking. It helps us build a new way to talk to ourselves about our financial concerns, which are legitimate and very real, without the worry that keeps the old patterns in place.

It Is YOUR Mantra and Your Mind

Moving into the attraction mode is a process. Whatever you need to do to connect the dots, that is your program. Choose whatever mantra affirmation that shifts you into your neutral mind and into gratitude. Remember – It is your mantra and your dialogue with yourself that matters. Use whatever helps your mind be honest in your conversation between you and you. Practice whatever supports you in believing what you are saying and moving into the attraction mode. Experiment and watch the results.

Meditations

There are many meditations that you can choose from. The ones that I have offered in my recent blogs (that I have been practicing) are —

The MA Meditation, which helps us get to the first chakra on the descent so we can attract physical wealth.

Ad Nad KriyaMeditation for Telepathic Communication.

I have also been practicing

Meditation for Gurprasad, which opens up gratitude, humility, and our ability to receive. Included below.

While the Sun shines in Gemini I suggest a minimum program of 11 or more minutes of Ad Nad Kriya followed by 3-5 minutes of the Meditation for Gurprasad.

Meditation for Gurprasad –
(Taught by Yogi Bhajan December 14, 1977)

Sit comfortably in meditation pose and cup the hands together at heart level, palms up, upper arms pressed against rib cage, eyes 1/10 open and allowed to close. Feel that you are asking for a blessing from God. Keep making your spine straighter – (a crooked spine will make one crooked, even in prayer).

Feel that something is dripping to you from the heavens: – the light of God, the flow of life, the supreme energy – whatever you believe in. Jesus Christ is sending you cookies! Or Moses. Or Santa Clause. It doesn’t matter.

Feel something is dropping from above into the cup of your hands. Lower yourself into this hallucination until you start feeling it as a reality. Get into your very simplicity – just ask for simple grace. Do it for just 3 minutes – it cannot be done for a long time. But do it as best you can.

Note: There is a slightly different version of the same meditation – time unlimited and the following comments:
Gurprasad means “gift of the Guru”. As you practice this meditation, feel yourself showered by all the blessings of heaven – health, wealth, happiness, your ultimate caliber and capacity. Just let it happen. Fill your heart and soul with all the bounties of nature. Simply meditate on the boundless flow of the Universal Soul, and feel a deep inflow of spirit. This is a very restful posture. The subtle pressure against the meridian points in the rib cage gives immediate relaxation.

Comments by Yogi Bhajan:
Let us become old, old human beings, centuries old. We used to draw ourselves onto our knees – we never used to stand up in our cave and we had some kind of hair things where we used to sleep, curled up like a dog. Have you seen a dog sleeping? That was the human way of sleeping. Early in the morning a human being would not get up – he would crawl on his knees, come out and sit on his heel or stretch his legs forward. I’m telling you the original, comfortable way of prayer. In Islam they still do it. In their prayers, this prayer exists: At first, everything is an imagination, like a blueprint. Then you start feeling the experience and it becomes the reality. That’s the difference between imagination and reality. Just be simple. You are not simple. That is why it is hard for you to concentrate.
